West 1 environmental Health hosted world Rabies Day campaign in 2 clinics in ward 19 and ward 20 ..
wyebank clinic rabies campaign started at 7:30 am on the 30th of September where both staff and community members were educated on Rabbies and importance of vaccination .Health workers were refreshed on the importance of submitting notification forms on time and on the importance of filling notification forms accurately .. Following formal training Environmental Health intergrated with state Vet on a vaccination drive .. we expirienced 90 percent rain on this day but due to excellent community mobilisation and community willingness,184 dogs and 5 cats were vaccinated on this day .. Kwadabeka campaign took place in ward 20 on the 2nd of October where we vaccinated 174 dogs and 3 cats .. Kwadabeka CHC nurses were also trained on dog bites categories and on the importance of rapid response when notifying medical conditions .
