This course has been designed to be an informative follow-on course for the Rabies Educator Certificate, providing an additional layer of proficiency for certified rabies educators. By completing this course, graduates are provided with additional knowledge and best practices for rabies prevention and empowered to manage various common rabies-related situations within their communities. Community Coordinator for Rabies Certificate graduates are empowered to be key knowledgeable rabies persons within their communities.

Who can complete the Community Coordinator for Rabies Certificate?

Graduates that have completed the Rabies Educator Certificate can enrol for the Community Coordinator for Rabies Certificate. This course can be completed by anyone who wants to become a rabies contact person for their community. However, the course was specifically designed to empower Community Health Workers.

What will I learn when completing the Community Coordinator for Rabies Certificate?

The Community Coordinator for Rabies Certificate focuses on the following core themes and outcomes:

  • Coordinating the community on rabies control.
  • Building relationships with community leaders.
  • Building links with the veterinary and medical sectors.
  • Assisting with mass vaccination events in your community.
  • Managing bite cases or possible rabies exposures.
  • Managing waste in the community.
