World Rabies Day is the first and only global day of action and awareness for rabies prevention. It is an opportunity to unite as a community - helping individuals, NGOs and governments to connect and share their work.

September 28th 2020 is the 14th World Rabies Day.

This year’s theme focuses on vaccination and collaboration.  In brief, the theme reminds us of key current issues in rabies elimination, namely:

the goal of Zero by 30,

the importance of dog vaccination and post-exposure prophylaxis; and

the need for a united effort towards achieving elimination of this transboundary disease.

For a full description of the concept behind this year’s theme, read our newsletter article.

Participating in World Rabies Day is a great way of making and sharing progress towards the elimination of rabies deaths by 2030 - become part of the global World Rabies Day community today.

Make sure your country is represented on World Rabies Day! Register your event so that it appears on the map above and add your voice to thousands of others who are working to raise awareness about rabies around the world!

Based on the success and great feedback from last year, we will continue the World Rabies Day awards in partnership with MSD Animal Health, including the public vote – so remember to enter, spread the word and get others to enter and vote.

To plan and promote your 2020 event, we have a host of different resources to help make planning your event as easy as possible. The latest developments include World Rabies Day logos designed specifically to print on t-shirts as well as a Facebook avatar logo to add to your profile picture!
