These songs will provide information on the dangers of relying on traditional medicines for rabies treatment and emphasize the importance of seeking medical help immediately and regularly dog vaccination.
The songs will be in the local languages as well as in Kiswahili (Tanzania’s National language). These songs will have a message, educating the children “How to Care & Love for Dog”.
The set of activities aims to make children aware of Dogs as living animals with needs and feelings. They will learn that Dog should be handled carefully. They should learn that guardians have a responsibility to meet the needs of their Dog and to keep them happy and healthy.
The Rabies songs will be written by youth in the community. Youth will be involved in writing the play, acting in the play and stage-managing. This is a great way to engage youth developing something positive for the community.
