The event is proposed to be an online webinar titled "One Health Approach: The Need for Collaborative Efforts in Rabies Eradication". Our target audience is made up of Medical Students from Universities across Nigeria
We are on track with two speakers lined up, a Veterinary Doctor (Dr Chidera Ndubuisi) and a Medical Doctor (Dr Cherechi Nwabueze) who are talking Rabies, its mode of infection and complications in animals, how to identify a Rabid Animal and what to do in such a situation, prevention of Rabies (with emphasis on the importance of vaccination), rabies care; how to identify an emergency and what to do in such a situation, the public health importance of Rabies Eradication, and ending with this Call to Action: "The role Medical Students and other young people can play in Rabies eradication.
The event is scheduled to hold on the 28th of September 2023, at 7:00pm WAT (GMT+1)
The event is organised by The Nigerian Medical Students' Association's Standing Committee on Medical Education (NiMSA SCOME) in collaboration with the Youth Health Action Network (YOHAN)
