The photo shows the event of mass dog vaccination campaign and community awarness

Ethiopia has been implementing a rabies prevention, control and elimination program to achieve the national and global ‘zero by 30’ goal. Among several interventions that had been achieved so far, annual Mass Dog Vaccination Campaign (MDVC) is the main one. We, the Veterinary Public Health (VPH) team members of the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, have been leading an integrated annual mass dog vaccination campaign since 2022 in relation to World Rabies Day commemoration event and vaccinated more than 357,617 dogs until 2023. Likewise, we have conducted two campaigns (from March-April 2024) in local cities and vaccinated about 7780 domestic dogs. Community awareness about rabies and its prevention and control system was one of the events that conducted side by side. The effort will continue until we reached to our goal.
