In recognition of World Rabies Day, we are excited to announce a Free Rabies Vaccination Program for stray dogs across the Sumatera Selatan region. This initiative is a joint effort involving the Food Security and Animal Husbandry Department of Sumatera Selatan Province, the Indonesia Veterinary Medicine Association (PDHI SUMSEL), and our dedicated corporate partners: Zoetis, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaya Palembang, PT Bukit Asam, Royal Canin, Sahabat Anjing Palembang, Sinarmas, Romindo, Japfa, Bank Sumsel Babel, EVO, MSD, Sampoerna Agro, and Dizamatra Powerindo.
In our Free Rabies Vaccination Program, we are emphasizing the importance of rabies vaccinations for stray dogs. We are commited to targeting at least 70% of the dog population develops protective antibodies. This level of coverage is crucial for halting the virus’s spread and moving towards global rabies eradication. By providing these vaccinations, we help protect both animals and humans from this deadly disease.
The program is open to all communities across 17 districts in Sumatera Selatan region, estimated 26.500 dosage.

Sumatera Selatan is dedicated to becoming a rabies-free zone by 2028, in alignment with Indonesia's goal of eliminating rabies by 2030 and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) global standards for rabies control.
