Indian Veterinary Association Kerala (IVA Kerala) Palakkad Unit- Quiz and Painting Competitions for World Rabies Day 2024
In conjunction with World Rabies Day 2024, the Indian Veterinary Association Kerala (IVA Kerala), Palakkad Unit, organized a series of engaging competitions on 28th September 2024 at IMA Hall, Palakkad. The activities aimed to raise awareness about rabies, promote community engagement, and encourage active participation from school students. The theme of the event was "Breaking Rabies Boundaries," aligned with the global movement to eliminate rabies.
Inter-School Quiz Competition:
A spirited Inter-School Quiz Competition was held for high school students, focusing on key areas such as rabies prevention, responsible pet care, vaccination, and global health challenges. Thirty teams from various schools in Palakkad participated, showcasing their knowledge in health, veterinary science, and rabies awareness. The quiz not only challenged the students' understanding but also provided valuable educational insights into rabies control efforts.
The winning team was recognized for their exceptional performance, and all participants were awarded certificates of participation, encouraging them to continue their advocacy for rabies prevention.
Painting Competition:
The Painting Competition, open to Upper Primary and High School students, saw enthusiastic participation from over 70 students. The young artists used their creativity to express themes related to rabies prevention, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of vaccination. The artwork beautifully reflected the students' understanding of the role communities can play in eliminating rabies.
Prizes were awarded to the top three entries, and all participants received certificates for their efforts in spreading awareness through art.
