Towards achieving this and cultivating a global network dedicated to improving health outcomes for all, the School of Public Health, Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) is launching a global webinar series under the banner – VISION- UHC (Virtual International Sessions to Improve Outcomes and Nurture Universal Health Care).

World Rabies Day, observed annually on September 28th, aims to raise awareness, promote prevention, and inspire action towards the global goal of zero human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030. , KUHS is happy to announce VISION-UHC-1, the inaugural session of this series, on the theme of World Rabies Day 2024 – Breaking Rabies Boundaries, trying to tap high-end technical expertise and bringing in global partnership, on 24.09.24 between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm IST. The program's highlight will be a talk delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Katie Hampson, Professor of Disease Ecology and Public Health, School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine, University of Glasgow. She is a member of the WHO Regional Technical Advisory Group for Rabies in Asia United Against Rabies Forum, Advisor to the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE): rabies vaccines and immunoglobulins & WHO expert consultations on rabies. She was also formerly the Consultant for FAO Technical Coordination Project: Rabies Control in Bali, Indonesia, and Advisor to the Pan-American Health Organization on surveillance for rabies freedom. This will be followed by a panel discussion with eminent public health, veterinary professionals, and key policymakers to discuss on the pathway to rabies elimination in Kerala.
