World Rabies Day 2020 was a huge success!

World Rabies Day 2020 thank you for your support from GARC in raising rabies awareness.

We at GARC would like to thank all of you for making World Rabies Day 2020 a huge success! You can read more about World Rabies Day 2020 here.

The theme for 2020 was "End Rabies: Collaborate, Vaccinate" focusing on vaccination and collaboration. In brief, the theme reminded us of key current issues in rabies elimination, namely:

the goal of Zero by 30,

the importance of dog vaccination and post-exposure prophylaxis; and

the need for a united effort towards achieving elimination of this transboundary disease.

More on World Rabies Day

World Rabies Day is the first and only global day of action and awareness for rabies prevention. It is an opportunity to unite as a community - helping individuals, NGOs and governments to connect and share their work.

September 28th 2021 will be the 15th World Rabies Day.

Participating in World Rabies Day is a great way of making and sharing progress towards the elimination of rabies deaths by 2030 - become part of the global World Rabies Day community today.

Make sure your country is represented on World Rabies Day! Watch out for the announcements for the 2021 World Rabies Day theme in April 2021. As soon as the theme is out, be sure to register your event so that it appears on the map above and add your voice to thousands of others who are working to raise awareness about rabies around the world!

We have partnered with IVSA to launch a Rabies Campaign Competition for IVSA members, where the grand prize winner will be announced on World Rabies Day. Read more about the competition.

As always, to help you plan and promote your 2021 event, we will develop a host of different resources to help make planning your event as easy as possible. These will include themed World Rabies Day logos and many other resources to help make your event a success!
