What rabies elimination work do you do?
For nearly three decades, Dr Ragunanthanan has led rabies elimination efforts in Tamil Nadu through training, awareness, policy, and partnerships. He has trained over 20,000 healthcare workers, introduced and standardized the safe use of rabies immunoglobulin, and helped ensure more effective management of nearly five lakh animal-bite cases. Beyond clinical work, he has driven large-scale community awareness campaigns, developed official guidelines and IEC materials, and collaborated with state, national, and international partners to institutionalize rabies prevention and control.
