A national cross-agency collaboration celebration of World Rabies Day at the Veterinary Hospital, Dept. of Veterinary Services (DVS) Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, with DVS Kuala Lumpur as the lead for this event.
Theme is the Malay translation of the WRD year 2023 international theme.
Activities during this event include:
· Multi-disciplinary Forum - End Rabies, One Health for All
· Pet vaccination drive, licensing & pet passport campaign
· Short video demonstration by Ministry of Health on First Aid for bites
· Open colouring contest (for ages 5 to 12, and adults)
· Open photography competition
· Public speaking competition for school children
· Awareness talk on significance and importance of applying for pet passport
· Service canine demonstration by the Malaysian Fire Department, and
· Booth exhibits from relevant agencies regarding rabies control and prevention
The event will be formalized by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (YB Chan Foong Hin), attended by key persons from multiple federal agencies and Sarawak Dept of Veterinary Services, and all members of the public (and schools).
