The Society for Animal Rights Protection organized a well attended advocacy and community engagement program among men and women in the informal sector, including traders, artisans, canteen operators etc More than 200 participants attended the event.
There were four presentation made by veterinarians and medical practitioners.
The topics include
1. The Role of Women and children in global eradication of rabies
2. Overview of rabies epidemiology in Oyo State
3. Eradication of rabies from our Communities; what you need to know
4. Manifestations of Rabies in humans and Post Exposure Prophylaxis
The event was hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Oyo State.
The question and answer session deepened the experiences of the participants
It was well applauded.
Government functionaries were also in attendance with the words of assurance to rev up efforts to eradicate rabies in line with the sustainable development goals.
