
The Rabies Management Information System (RabMIS) is a local initiative of the the Province of Agusan del Norte, Philippines, spearheaded by Governor Hon. Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante. It serves as a shared platform for both the human and animal health sectors, facilitating data management on animal bite patients, animal (dog and cat) registration and vaccination. In addition, it functions as a vital surveillance tool for rabies prevention and control.
Now, as the One Health Approach Rabies Program in the province nears its first decade of implementation, it is set to take a significant step forward in the fight against rabies with the launch of e-RabMIS - an online platform that will the services of the province's five Animal Bite Treatment Centers (ABTCs) more accessible, especially for animal bite patients.
The e-RabMIS is developed by Mr. Paul T. Cupay under the guidance of Mr. Jessem Cardona, head of the Management Information System Office, and Mr. Dickson Go, chairperson of One Health Approach Rabies Program-Technical Working Group.
