"Bata: Iwas Rabies Program" is a targetted Rabies information drive campaign to the different Barangay (village) Day Care Centers teaching young schoolchildren the basic of rabies disease awareness and prevention. It will also make a strong points about animal bite prevention and will instill in their young minds to always tell their parents whenever scratched or bitten by animals especially dogs and cats.
It will be a three-pronged target approach - as parents of these schoolchildren and village officials will be present during the activity.
For a multisectoral collaboration, socio-civic organization like the Rotary Club (Rotary Club of Downtown Butuan) and the Philippine Eagles (Maharlika Eagles Club Region 10), will take part of this important campaign.
IEC materials from Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) will also play a significant role in this program.
This activity is fully supported by the provincial government of Agusan del Norte through the leadership of Provincial Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante.
