The Laikipia Rabies Vaccination Campaign(LRVC) is a multi-year mass vaccination of domestic dogs and cats against the deadly rabies disease. This campaign has been carried out every year since 2015 by a dedicated team based at the Mpala Research Center in Laikipia - Kenya and immensely supported by the veterinary department at the Laikipia County government and other partners including the Kenya national government's Zoonotic Disease Unit (One Health Kenya).
On World Rabies Day - 28th Sept, We shall converge at the Lekiji village with volunteers and representatives from the Vet department of the County government of Laikipia. This will be a day of vaccinating a few more hundred dogs and cats, educating community members on rabies control, prevention, and dog bite management
Join us on World Rabies Day and in the weeks following, as we spread awareness and educate the masses on rabies prevention and control, and most importantly as we vaccinate dogs and cats against the deadly rabies disease..
