As part of our ISOHA 2025 student project, "Breaking the Dog Bite Chain," the One Health Society at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences - Narowal Campus, organised our event.
We fashioned red bows using handmade paw stickers and prepared awareness banners to commemorate World Rabies Day, signifying a united community speaking out against rabies.
A rabies awareness walk kicked off the program, which was followed by an informative arts and crafts activity. We used an inventive photo booth to display images that highlighted the difficulties caused by dog attacks and how they affect people's lives.
A practical awareness lesson on handwashing, post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) vaccinations, and what to do in the event of a dog bite was led by our convener, Dr. Waqas. To promote prevention, this project brought together science, ingenuity, and a sense of community. We highlighted the value of One Health cooperation and our common goal of a Rabies-Free Future by including schoolchildren and community members.
