Ending rabies is a human need, and empowering the most vulnerable communities becomes a strategy to achieve this through vaccination and anti-rabies health education, this last element is crucial in remote communities in which they are vulnerable due to ignorance of the risk of direct exposure to contact with domestic and / or wild animals, however it has not been enough since we have again become victims of this scourge, the death of a man after having contact with the saliva of a rabid bovine in the state of Nayarit, Mexico and the last case after 38 years, that of a young woman under 17 years old loses her life in our state of Zacatecas, Mexico due to the bite of a skunk sick with rabies, what is paradoxical and incredible is that it happens in the month of September, when we celebrate actions to eradicate rabies, so actions must be redoubled and focused on completing the state goal of annual vaccination that was carried out in April of this year, as well as the dissemination of prevention measures for cattle and wildlife.
