The technical team of the Provincial Department of Livestock, today september 10th, carried out awareness raising at the basic School of the Hipico Center where 780 studants and 12 teachers participeted.
We talked about rabies, which exist and it is fatal but preventable. We defined what rabies is, affected animals including humans, the transmission route and clinical signs. We clarified that rabies has no cure but is preventable through: 1. Vaccinating dogs and cats every year, 2. Encouraging children not to stone known and unknown dogs ou dogs feeding or sleeping and always asking permition to enter other people's homes. 3. The precoutions to take in case of bite and finally we talk about act now: you, I, communities. The mission of those raised in their communities starting now.
