Rabies vaccination during 2025 WRD at Kinmen County, Taiwan

To mark World Rabies Day, the Kinmen County Animal and Plant Disease Control Center held the annual rabies vaccination event for pets, focusing on dogs and cats. This year’s event took place on Saturday, September 20, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the open space next to the Qionglin Tunnel.

The event was to celebrate 2025 World Rabies Day. The event aimed to increase the rabies vaccination rate in the Kinmen area and promoted responsible pet ownership by encouraging quality care for animals. At the same time, it elevated to protect the health of both pets and their owners.

For public health and preventing the spread of rabies from mainland China to Kinmen, pet owners were reminded to vaccinate their dogs and cats against rabies annually. According to the Animal Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, owners who failed to vaccinate their pets on schedule will be fined between NT$30,000 and NT$150,000.

This event served as a reminder to all pet owners: If you love them, protect them. Let’s work together to create a safe and healthy environment for our pets and ourselves.
