The Keelung City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office has successfully held the “World Rabies Day – Health and Prevention GO Event” on October 18, 2025 (Saturday), from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Nuandong Nursery (No. 12, Dongding Rd., Nuannuan District, Keelung City). The event attracted a large number of enthusiastic participants and their beloved pets. According to Taiwan’s regulations, pet owners are required to vaccinate their dogs and cats against rabies every year to safeguard both animal and human health. In response to World Rabies Day, observed annually on September 28, the Office organized a series of engaging activities to raise public awareness of rabies prevention. Highlights included a rabies prevention pledge ceremony, quarantine dog performances, a pet supplies and gourmet market, a reward-point and photo check-in campaign, a pet adoption area, and fun dog competitions. Free rabies vaccinations and pet registration services were also provided on-site for the convenience of pet owners. The event was a great success, with strong community participation and guidance from officials of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency Ministry of Agriculture. Together, the organizers and participants have taken an important step toward strengthening rabies prevention and promoting the health of both people and pets.
