Chiayi County Hosts 2025 World Rabies Day Event to Promote Pet Health and Public Awareness. On September 27, 2025, the Chiayi County Animal Disease Control Center held a special event in celebration of World Rabies Day at the Chiayi County Government Special Zone, located in front of the Chiayi County Council. Running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the event aimed to raise public awareness about rabies prevention and promote responsible pet ownership. The day featured a variety of educational activities, including informative sessions on rabies transmission, prevention strategies, and the importance of timely vaccination. In addition to the outreach efforts, the center provided free rabies vaccinations and complimentary pet microchip implantation services for dogs and cats. The event drew an impressive turnout, with a total of 632 participants from the local community. Among them, 39 dogs and cats received rabies vaccinations, contributing to the region’s ongoing efforts to safeguard both animal and human health. By offering free services and engaging the public through education, the Chiayi County Animal Disease Control Center reaffirmed its commitment to preventing rabies and promoting animal welfare. The successful event underscored the importance of collaboration between local authorities and residents in building a safer, healthier environment for all.
