GARC has a new Chief Executive Officer

We are excited to announce that Dr Andre Coetzer, previously GARC’s Technical Director, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for GARC from July 2025.

Andre, who joined GARC in 2014, brings over a decade of hands-on experience in advancing rabies elimination efforts across resource-limited countries. He has proven his ability to design, implement, and manage technology-driven solutions that focus on empowering stakeholders to make a lasting impact in their rabies elimination efforts.

Alongside the GARC team, Dr Coetzer remains committed to ensuring that as an organization, we remain relevant in a changing world and continue to do what we do best: Working towards empowering communities to lead and sustain effective rabies elimination efforts.
