The Cat Network has been helping the public sterilize community cats for almost thirty years.  It was very important for us to educate the public the importance of vaccinating the cats for rabies when they were brought in for surgery.  Even though, Miami Dade County had not had an outbreak of rabies for almost 50 years, it was important to have all free-roaming cats vaccinated since we have a raccoon population in the county.

For World Rabies Day, we will emphasize the importance of vaccinations since disease knows no boundaries.
