The Liberia Animal Welfare & Conservation Society (LAWCS) runs the only free rabies vaccination exercise in rural Liberia for dogs and cats. The program promotes ONE HEALTH CONCEPT by making both pets and the communities happy and healthy through rabies awareness and education program along with free outreach rabies vaccination exercise. The program ensures that all dogs in each community are all vaccinated against rabies and the entire community is educated about rabies.
From August 1 to September 30, 2020, LAWCS will ensure that over 1,000 dogs and cats are vaccinated against rabies and over 30 communities are reached and educated about rabies in Lofa County.
